Common Heavy-Duty Truck Testing Questions
How much does a truck emissions test cost?
Pricing varies by truck type and location.
Call 905-870-8998 for an accurate quote. We offer competitive rates and can beat inspection centre prices when you factor in your time and fuel savings.
Do you charge a trip fee?
Trip fees are included in the emissions test cost. Contact us for an accurate quote.
Can I get tested the same day?
Often yes, subject to our schedule. Call 905-870-8998 as early as possible for same-day availability or guaranteed next day appointments. We understand urgent compliance needs and do our best to accommodate.
What if I just bought a used truck and need testing?
Perfect situation for mobile testing! We can test your newly purchased truck at the seller's location, auction site, or your desired location before you put it into service.
What happens if my truck fails?
We provide a detailed report showing exactly what caused the failure—whether it's an issue with emissions being over the accepted opacity limit, trouble codes being present, or readiness monitors being ‘not ready’. Get it repaired by your mechanic or one of our recommended mechanics, then call us to schedule a retest.
Do I need to be present during testing? Remove this question all together.
Yes, you or your designated representative should be present to provide keys, answer questions about the truck, and receive test results.
Can you test multiple trucks at once?
Absolutely. If you have multiple trucks, we can test them all during a single visit. Great for owner-operators with 2-3 trucks or large trucking companies with 20+ trucks.
What if my check engine light is on?
We recommend having it diagnosed and repaired before scheduling an emissions test.
Will a check engine light cause my truck to fail?
A check engine light will only cause a truck to fail if the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the truck is 6350 kg or under. This number must be taken from the information tag that can be found on the driver’s side door, glove compartment, or engine plate.
Do you test older trucks?
We test all commercial diesel trucks that are 7 years and older. As of January 2026, any truck that is 2019 or older requires an emissions test annually. Older trucks (especially pre-2007 models before DPF requirements) have different opacity limits for the emissions test and may have different testing procedures.
Testing for Different Truck Operations
Owner-Operators
As an independent trucker, every day off the road costs you money. Our mobile testing saves you:
-
A full day's revenue (no sitting at inspection centres)
-
Fuel costs driving to inspection centres
-
Time away from dispatch
-
Stress of scheduling around limited business hours
Specialized Haulers
From dump truck operators to tow truck companies, we understand specialized vehicles have unique schedules. We work around your operational needs.
Small and Large Trucking Companies (2 to 10 Trucks or 10+)
Keep your trucks running with efficient on-site testing. We come to your yard or shop, test all trucks, and you get back to business. Smaller fleets of up to 10 trucks take an average of 1 to 2 hours. Larger fleets of 10+ vary based on unit count. Contact us for an accurate time estimate.
Regional & Local Haulers
Perfect for trucks that run local routes and return to base daily. We test during loading times, between shifts, or whenever trucks are parked.
